Authentic Storytelling for a Global Leader
At the heart of every successful global company are the people behind it.
That understanding sits at the centre of our long-standing partnership with Nestlé. A brand that recognises a strong workplace culture. It is something that must be continuously supported, communicated, and lived across the organisation.
As a globally recognised household name, Nestlé understands that a strong internal culture must be intentionally developed and consistently nurtured over time.
Impress serves as their creative partner. We help them translate these deeply rooted values into meaningful and engaging visual stories, brought to life on screen.
The Challenge: Moving Beyond Surface-Level Inclusion
The brief for our latest collaboration was ambitious. Requiring us to move beyond traditional corporate diversity messaging and explore deeper, more meaningful inclusion.
Nestlé needed a piece that avoided scripted language, instead capturing genuine, unscripted reflections from employees across all levels of the organisation.
The content had to be representative, featuring voices ranging from factory floor employees to senior leadership teams based at their York headquarters.
Equally important was creating a psychologically safe production environment, where individuals felt comfortable sharing honest experiences around workplace boundaries and mental health.
Creating Honest Conversations on Camera
The “Talking Chair” Method
To achieve a high level of honesty and openness, we adopted a minimalist “talking chair” interview style throughout the entire production process.
By removing visual distractions such as complex backgrounds or elaborate setups, we ensured that full attention remained on each individual’s personal story.
This direct-to-camera approach created a strong sense of intimacy, allowing participants to communicate their thoughts with clarity, authenticity, and emotional sincerity.
A More Human Style of Corporate Filmmaking
Working closely with Nestlé’s internal communications team, we carefully balanced high-end production quality with a deliberately raw and unscripted storytelling approach.
Through thoughtful lighting, precise sound design, and a stripped-back visual style, we created a film that feels natural and conversational.
The final 90-second piece avoids the tone of a formal presentation, instead delivering an experience that feels personal, honest, and highly relatable.
Themes Explored Throughout the Film
Focus Area
Narrative Impact
Psychological Safety
The film highlights the importance of creating workplace environments where employees feel confident. In this way, raising concerns openly, without fear of judgment or consequences.
Visible & Invisible Diversity
It explores diversity beyond surface-level characteristics. Addressing topics such as mental health, communication styles, and the varied experiences individuals bring to work.
Leadership Support
The content demonstrates how effective leadership plays a key role in fostering inclusion, trust, and a genuine sense of belonging across teams.
Long-Term Strategic Value
The final film now forms part of Nestlé’s wider internal communications strategy. It supports an ongoing library of people-focused content across the organisation.
Beyond the immediate campaign, the piece helps reinforce a consistent internal narrative around employee well-being, inclusion, trust, and workplace culture.
More importantly, it demonstrates how thoughtful corporate video production can help large organisations communicate cultural values. In a way that feels human rather than performative.
Nestlé Case Study: The Result
This project highlights the growing role authentic storytelling plays within modern internal communications and employer branding.
For Nestlé, the film helped create a more emotionally engaging way to communicate important cultural conversations across the business.
For Impress, this partnership demonstrates our ability to help global brands communicate. With meaningful cultural change through thoughtful and authentic storytelling approaches, we produce something unique.
We do more than simply capture footage: we actively contribute to strengthening the internal cultures that drive long-term organisational success.
