How Video Helped Shawpak Showcase Its Packaging Machinery
When you’re selling high-value industrial machinery, explaining what your equipment can do is only part of the challenge. Potential customers also need confidence in your technology, expertise and ability to deliver.
For Shawpak, a specialist manufacturer of packaging machinery for industries including medical and healthcare, video offered a way to communicate both.
Working with Shawpak, we created a collection of videos combining 3D animation, live-action filming and visual effects. The aim was to demonstrate the capabilities of its machinery, simplify complex manufacturing processes and give international customers a clearer understanding of the business.
The Challenge: Making Complex Machinery Easy to Understand
Shawpak manufactures packaging machinery for a wide range of industries, particularly medical and healthcare.
With individual orders potentially worth hundreds of thousands or even millions of pounds, prospective customers needed more than a general introduction to the company. They needed to understand the machinery’s capabilities and feel confident making such a significant investment.
Shawpak was particularly keen to reach international medical manufacturers, including those in the American market. It needed to demonstrate how its equipment could operate in cleanroom environments, where controlling airborne particles and contamination is essential.
Explaining these processes through traditional marketing materials alone could be challenging. Shawpak needed a visual way to show how its machinery worked, alongside the expertise, facilities and people behind the business.

The Solution: A Combination of Animation, Filming and Visual Effects
We began by learning about Shawpak’s manufacturing processes, its machinery and the information potential customers needed before making a purchasing decision.
We then developed a video approach combining three techniques to communicate different aspects of the business.
3D Animation to Explain the Manufacturing Process
Some of the machinery’s most important capabilities involved technical processes that could be difficult to demonstrate through conventional filming alone.
We created a 3D animation showing medical devices moving through a controlled packaging environment. The sequence illustrated the process from materials entering the production line through forming and sealing to the final packaging stages.
This helped make the manufacturing process easier to follow while demonstrating how the machinery could support contamination-controlled production environments.
Rather than relying entirely on technical explanations, Shawpak could use animation to show prospective customers how the process worked.
Live-Action Filming and Visual Effects to Showcase the Machinery
Animation explained the process, but customers also needed to see the actual equipment.
Working with Shawpak, we filmed newly completed machines before delivering them to customers. Using a green-screen approach, we then placed the machinery into clean, white environments through visual effects.
This allowed us to present the equipment in a controlled, uncluttered setting that would have been difficult to achieve on the factory floor.
The resulting footage showcased the machinery and illustrated different stages of the packaging process, including how packaging materials were formed around specific medical products.
Combining real footage with visual effects gave Shawpak a practical way to demonstrate its equipment while keeping the presentation clear and visually consistent.
A Company Overview Film to Build Confidence
The machinery was only part of the story. Shawpak also needed to demonstrate the scale of its operation and the people responsible for delivering its solutions.
We produced a company overview film taking viewers inside its facilities, showing the manufacturing process and featuring interviews with key staff members.
This gave potential customers a broader understanding of the business, its expertise and its resources. For international manufacturers considering a significant investment, seeing the people and facilities behind the machinery helped communicate the company’s capabilities.
Together, the films presented Shawpak from several perspectives: its technology, its manufacturing processes and the wider business.

The Results: A Collection of Videos Supporting Sales and Marketing
The project delivered a collection of videos that Shawpak could use at different stages of its sales and marketing process.
The company overview film introduced prospective customers to the business. The animation explained the more technical aspects of the machinery, while individual machine videos provided relevant information for prospects exploring specific packaging solutions.
The content was used across Shawpak’s website, exhibition stands, sales presentations and wider marketing campaigns.
Following the introduction of the videos, Shawpak reported stronger engagement with its website content. Its sales team also gained useful materials to support new enquiries, allowing them to direct prospective customers towards videos demonstrating the relevant machinery and its capabilities.
The videos helped Shawpak communicate complex manufacturing processes more clearly, strengthen its brand presence and give international customers greater confidence in its ability to deliver high-value machinery projects.
Why This Approach Worked
The key was matching each video format to a specific communication challenge.
Animation made technical processes easier to visualise. Live-action filming showed the actual machinery, while visual effects created a clean environment for presenting the equipment. The company film added the human element, introducing the people, facilities and expertise behind the business.
Rather than relying on one video to explain everything, Shawpak gained a collection of targeted assets that could support different audiences and stages of the customer journey.
For businesses selling complex products or high-value equipment, this approach can help bridge the gap between technical information and customer understanding.
