The Campbell Clinic: Putting People at the Heart of a Dental Video
How Do You Make a Dental Practice Feel More Personal?
When The Campbell Clinic in Nottingham opened its new multimillion-pound dental facility, it had an opportunity to show patients more than its impressive surroundings. It could introduce them to the people who make the practice what it is.
Having worked with the team for over 10 years, we already understood what made The Campbell Clinic different. Rather than producing another traditional dental promotional video focused on treatment rooms and equipment, we wanted to tell a more personal story.
Our approach was simple: put the people first.
By capturing the personalities, humour and everyday experiences of more than 20 members of staff, we created authentic video content that helped patients get to know the team behind their care.
The Challenge: Moving Beyond the Traditional Dental Promotional Video
A new dental facility offers plenty of opportunities for impressive visuals. However, The Campbell Clinic wanted its video content to communicate something more meaningful than the quality of its premises or the latest dental equipment.
The team wanted patients to see the people behind the business: the dentists, nurses, receptionists and wider staff who look after them every day.
The aim was to give existing and prospective patients a better understanding of the personalities they might meet when visiting the clinic.
Having worked with the practice for more than a decade, we knew that its people were an important part of its identity. The challenge was to capture that character on camera without making the content feel staged or overly corporate.

Our Solution: A More Natural Approach to Video Production
We suggested a relaxed filming approach that would allow the team to be themselves.
Instead of scripting interviews or asking staff to deliver perfectly rehearsed answers, we wanted to capture genuine conversations and spontaneous reactions.
First takes, second takes, mistakes, laughter and the occasional blooper were all part of the process. These moments helped reveal the personalities behind the professional roles.
The idea was to create something that felt genuine and approachable, reflecting the type of content people enjoy watching on social media.
By allowing each person to respond naturally, we could avoid the repetitive messages often found in traditional promotional videos. Every member of staff had an opportunity to share their own experiences and perspective.
The Production: Getting to Know the Team
We spent a full day filming at The Campbell Clinic, interviewing more than 20 members of staff across different locations within the building.
We asked everyone a series of questions about their roles, their experiences and what they enjoyed most about working at the clinic.
Some answers were serious, others were funny, and a few were completely unexpected. Rather than cutting out every imperfect moment, we embraced the individuality that made each interview interesting.
Our small production crew moved around the building, capturing interviews alongside the natural moments that happened between takes.
This approach kept the filming process straightforward and helped the content feel less formal. Most importantly, it allowed the staff to come across as themselves rather than as people delivering a prepared marketing message.
The Result: Authentic Video Content That Connects with Patients
The finished film was very different from a conventional dental practice promotional video.
Instead of focusing on equipment, treatment rooms or the scale of the new facility, the content introduced audiences to the people who make The Campbell Clinic special.
The videos were shared across the clinic’s website and social media channels, receiving positive feedback from existing patients and the wider community.
Patients could see their own dentists and other members of staff on screen, get to know them a little better, and share the videos with friends and family.
The project demonstrated how a straightforward, people-focused approach to video production can help a business communicate its personality and strengthen its relationship with its audience.
Why People-Focused Video Works
For us, what made this project successful was its simplicity.
We weren’t trying to tick the usual boxes by showing off the latest equipment, beautifully designed treatment rooms or a multimillion-pound facility. We wanted to put the people first.
Behind every impressive building and piece of specialist equipment is a team of people who shape the customer experience. Therefore, for a dental practice, those relationships matter.
Video gives businesses an opportunity to become familiar to their audience before the first appointment even takes place.
By showing real staff in their everyday working environment, businesses can communicate their values and personality in a way that feels more human and relatable.
Therefore, sometimes, the most effective way to tell a company’s story isn’t through an elaborate production or a carefully written script. It’s about putting a camera in front of the right people and allowing them to be themselves.
